Firstly, welcome to my new-look website. My name is Gary Hicks and I'm currently writing several novels. I live in Ireland now, but

originally came here from the UK. I started life unsure of what I wanted to do, so when I left school I decided to get a job. After a lot of different modes of gainful employment, I found myself in the IT industry - almost by accident.

Since then I've plodded around in a number of different jobs, some interesting, some not so. A few years ago I started writing and enjoying every moment. I've written a few short stories and four of an intended series of ten books. Although, I've had nothing published as yet - this may have more to do with not having submitted anything to magazines!

When I'm writing, I have Pink Floyd or Coldplay blaring out. Re-writes, edits and corrections are most often accompanied by Fleetwood Mac, Enya, Dido or Annie Lennox. Over the last few months I've been reading anew or re-reading authors, all thanks to Starship Sofa
